Storytelling presets
The Storytelling group in Add section holds prebuilt layouts of the flexible Section. Each one arrives finished, with groups and content blocks already arranged, so your work is editing the words and images, not building the structure. They are presets, so every control on a plain Section applies once you want to adjust the design.
This article covers the four that have no page of their own: Brand ethos, Quote, Highlights, and Rich text with button. The rest of the Storytelling group is documented elsewhere:
- Collage and Lookbook: see Collage.
- Video with text: see Video with text.
- Marquee, Text and images, Logos: three starting points for the same scrolling row. It is also a block you can add inside any section, and it is documented once in Sections, blocks, and groups and Content blocks reference.
- Testimonials: a slider of customer quotes. See Testimonials.
- Articles with slider: blog post cards beside a heading and a link. See Articles with slider.
Add one
- In the theme editor, open Add section.
- Under the Storytelling group, pick the preset you want.
- The layout appears with placeholder copy and empty image slots. Open the section's blocks in the editor sidebar to edit them.
To replace text, click a block (such as Eyebrow, Accent text, Rich text, Text, or Quote) and type your own. To add a picture, click an Image or Illustration block, or set a background on a group. The illustrations are decorative and you can remove them.
Brand ethos
A wide statement of what your brand stands for. At the top, a Proportional group puts your headline on the left and a single decorative Illustration on the right. Below it a Separator, then a Horizontal content block with three columns for your principles.
What to edit:
- The top block: an Eyebrow ("Our principles") and an Accent text headline.
- The three columns. Each holds an Eyebrow label ("Feature", "Benefit", "Detail"), a Text title, and a Rich text paragraph. Rename the labels to what you actually promise: "Sourcing", "Milling", "Packing".
- The first column also has a Button. Add one to the other two columns if you want each principle to link somewhere.
- The side Illustration, or remove it.
Quote
A customer or press quote given a band of its own. A large pull quote sits beside a signature illustration, with a byline under it. On phones the two stack. Use it to feature a review, a quote, or a line that sums up your shop.
What to edit:
- The Quote block: your quotation. The decorative quote mark is part of the block.
- The byline: an Eyebrow with the attribution ("Anna M., repeat customer") and a Button ("Shop the same") pointing wherever the quote should lead.
- The signature Illustration beside the quote, or remove it.
Highlights
Four promises in a row inside a panel with a dashed border and rounded corners: a common pattern for quality, delivery, packaging, and support. A centered heading introduces the panel, and each of the four cells has an Illustration, an Eyebrow tag, a Text title, and a Text description. On phones the four cells stack.
What to edit:
- The heading ("What stays with you.") and the intro line above the panel.
- Each cell's tag, title, and description. Rewrite them for the four things you most want customers to know, for example "Pressed to order", "Cold chain shipping", "Glass, not plastic", and "Talk to a real person".
- Each cell's Illustration, or remove it.
Rich text with button
The plainest of the four: an Eyebrow, an Accent text heading, a Rich text paragraph, and a Button, stacked and centered at page width. Use it to introduce your shop, open a collection page, or break up a run of image-heavy sections with words.
Settings
These presets carry no settings of their own beyond the standard Section controls: Color, Layout, Size, Appearance, Border, Padding, Margin, and Visibility. See Common section settings. The arrangement inside each preset comes from group blocks (a Proportional group, Group, or Styled group), which have their own copies of those controls.
Adapt the starting layouts
- A preset is a starting point. You can add, reorder, or remove any block inside it, and every cell or column is a separate block in the sidebar.
- To add or drop a Highlights cell, duplicate or delete one of the four Group blocks inside the panel. The remaining cells re-space to fill the row.
- To add or drop a Brand ethos column, duplicate or delete a Column block inside the Horizontal content block.
- The illustrations are decorative defaults. Swap them for your own under each Illustration block, or remove them for a cleaner, text-only look.
